Dr. Ron Wallman, Veterinarian

Dr. Ron Wallman received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1982 and has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Nebraska. Ron is married to Annette who is now retired from a career in education. They have a daughter Lindsey who, with her husband Evan, lives near Gretna. Lindsey is also a veterinarian while Evan works in ag sales. Dr. Wallman’s professional interests include beef and dairy cattle as well as surgery in both companion and food animals.

Dr. Wallman is very active professionally as a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Veterinary Practitioners, Academy of Veterinary Consultants and Nebraska Cattlemen. In the Seward community he is a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Seward Rotary, Seward County Ag Society, Seward Planning Commission and Blue River Pet Rescue. Ron has served in numerous leadership activities including terms as President of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, Faith Lutheran Church, Rotary, Ag Society, and Seward Planning Commission. He enjoys interacting with young people by speaking to 4H clubs, FFA groups, and classes ranging from preschoolers to veterinary students. Each summer Dr. Wallman judges the Pet Show at the Seward County Fair and, in October, serves as the M.C. for the Rotary Costume Contest.

Ron and his wife Annette are avid golfers, enjoy gardening together, and follow Husker football and basketball. They love their German Wire Hair dogs who also help out Ron with his pursuit of pheasant and quail each Fall. Ron also enjoys doing some woodworking when time permits.


Dr. Jay Wolverton, Veterinarian

Dr. Jay Wolverton is a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and a 1986 Animal Science graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jay and wife Cindy have three adult children Keith, Cara and Scott and as a family they enjoy sporting, equestrian and agricultural events.

Jay was a very active in 4H and FFA as a youth and has been a volunteer for area youth organizations. Cindy is the 4H Assistant at the Seward County Extension Office working with youth development and agriculture literacy. Affiliations include American Red Angus Association, Nebraska Cattleman’s Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. He has also volunteered as a local baseball and wrestling coach.

Dr. Wolverton is a member of the Nebraska Veterinary Medicine Association, The Society for Theriogenology, the American Association of Equine practitioners and the American association of Bovine Practitioners. Breeding Season is a busy time for him providing cattle and horse artificial Insemination, Cattle Frozen embryo transfers and Mare reproductive care.


Dr. Dan Ellis, Veterinarian

Dr. Ellis graduated high school in Seward and attended Concordia University in Seward as well. He then attended Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2005. He has practiced at Seward Animal Hospital since graduating.

Dan appreciates the variety of cases that are presented by being in a mixed-animal practice, while having specific interests in surgery and dentistry.

Dan currently resides in Seward with his wife, Elissa, and daughters, Sophia and Myra. He enjoys golf, the outdoors, and hunting with their dog, Harvey, when he can. Dan also enjoys being involved in the community as current president of Blue River Pet Rescue Board of Directors and a member of Seward City Planning Commission. Dan has also served one-year terms, on three occasions, as a director on the board for Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association.


Linda Deinert, Office Accounting

Linda Deinert operates the business office of Seward Animal Hospital and has worked as a part time bookkeeper/receptionist since 1999. She is married to Melvin and they farm and raise cattle near Emerald.

She has two grown children, Melinda and Scott with wife Megan. She will soon take on the duties of being Grandma.

Linda spends time cooking, gardening, canning, and freezing. She also enjoys playing the organ and piano for Zion Evangelical Luthern Church.


Kelli (Kobza) Lodema, LVT

In 1984, Kelli received her AAS for Animal Health Technology at National College in Rapid City, SD. Kelli has over 30 years of experience working with animals. Kelli has been married since 1984 to Dan Lodema who retired from the Air Force in 2000. She has two children Matthew (1988) and Ben (1996). Following her husband’s retirement from the military they moved back to her home state, Nebraska; in which she passed the Nebraska state licensing test in 1998.

Since being hired in 2001 by Seward Animal Hospital, she has enjoyed working with our wonderful team of doctors and staff to keep our hospital functional as well as welcoming.

The majority of her tasks are performed behind the scenes. Many of you may not even know she works here unless you bring an animal in for surgery or illness. Her job includes assisting in surgery, anesthesia, radiology, lab work, and of course all the tender loving care to all the patients.

Sending home a healthy pet is a huge reward for Kelli!


Tammie Ferris

Tammie has been a member of the Seward Animal Hospital team since May 2011. As receptionist, she hopes to be one of the first smiling faces and joyful voices you’ll encounter when you visit or contact the Hospital.

Tammie lives north of Seward, with her husband Jay. They have two sons, Justin (Hillary) and Dylan (Kylie), and daughter Kelsey (Lucas). Both boys are firefighters for Grand Island Fire Department. Kelsey is a Dental Hygienist in Wichita, KS. Justin and Hillary have two little boys, Eli and Owen. Dylan and Kylie have twin girls, Avery and Emma.

Tammie enjoys baking, cooking, scrapbooking and time with the family. She also likes to read a good book with her cat Lottie on her lap or to be throwing the Frisbee for their Border Collie Wrigley.


Sara Kudlacek, LVT

Sara grew up on a farm by Valparaiso, NE where she raised cattle, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits and even her pet mouse Stewart. She gained a lot of experience nursing sick animals back to health growing up on the farm.

She went to Bishop Neumann high school graduating in 2010. Then, attended Northeast Community College and received her AAS degree in Veterinary Technology in 2013. Later in 2013 she passed the Nebraska State Boards. Sara is the most recent addition to the Seward Animal Hospital family starting in May 2015.

In her free time she enjoys riding horses, camping, hanging out with friends, and working on the farm. She has always had a passion for animals and her favorite part of being a technician is being able to help sick or hurt animals go home happy and healthy.
